Cook with Mariam Catering’s principal Mariam Issa has over 30 years cooking experience, having first started cooking at the age of ten.
A love of fresh, cooked food coupled with her passion for making a difference to help educate and empower the community to bridge the gap of difference in her ethnic community, and her adopted Australian culture, has inspired Mariam to start her business.
Food is the best catalyst to create change and Mariam feels privileged she can use this power to her advantage and connect communities. “I bring my fine tradition East African menus to your home and businesses so you can help me make a difference” she says.
Since arriving in Australia over ten years ago, Mariam has enjoyed sharing her experiences and diverse African heritage with friends and the wider community. Inspired by Western friends who loved her cooking and perceived a need for diversity of food in the Bayside area, she was encouraged to start her catering and Cooking class business.
